About

In October of 2023 Woodland Church commissioned a new hope ministry called Our Journey of Hope Cancer Care Ministry, sponsored by City of Hope. This ministry walks alongside people in our congregation who are dealing with cancer. While it involves prayer, counsel, visits and assistance, it is centered on bringing God’s hope to those dealing with a cancer diagnosis. This requires an understanding of the impact of cancer, how people react to it and how God has called His people to respond.

Get Involved

This ministry requires us to have within ourselves an unfeigned hope that we can take to those in need. We believe there is a need for this ministry in our church community, but more than that we believe God has gifted us to it. Our mentors complete an 8-week training course learning about tools, resources, and ways to support those who have cancer. We also meet monthly to check on each other and get further training.
